The BauBax is a multi-function, ‘Swiss Army knife’-style jacket that aims to provide everything a traveller might need
Dubbed as the "world's best travel jacket", the BauBax offers 15 built-in features including a neck pillow, hood, eye mask, gloves, drink holder and multiple compartments that can store full size tablets as well as phones, earphones, portable chargers and a small blanket.
Available in four styles as a soft cotton jumper, a water-repellent windbreaker, a fleece-lined bomber jacket and a wrinkle-free blazer, its highlighted functions include a detachable neck pillow, which is said to be inflated in two seconds using a built-in valve and deflated in one pat. The pillow, said to be suitable for different sleeping positions while travelling, is kept in the hood from where the eye mask also slides out.
The hood of the bomber and blazer is detachable, while the zip of the coat can be detached and used as a standard pen on one end and as a gliding touchscreen Stylus pen on its other end.
Its drink pocket is made with an insulated neoprene material which is said to “keep your hot drinks warm and cold drinks cool”, eliminating the need to have your tray table open while reading or watching a film or using your tablet, laptop or smartphone. There is, however, still the risk of your drink spilling everywhere during turbulence.
Other useful pockets include one for holding sunglasses, which comes with a microfiber cloth to clean your lenses, and a passport-sized chest pocket for easy access to your travel documents while boarding or going through airport security. Travellers could warm their hands in the front pockets or access open-finger gloves which slide out from the end of each sleeve. The coat also features a pocket for a small rolled-up blanket.
